How to Find Someone in Youthful Offender System
The Youthful Offender System is under the direct operation of the Colorado Department of Public Safety.
Why does that matter?
The Colorado Department of Public Safety website, is where you are going to locate the database that consists of every state prison they operate.
This database is going to have all the offender’s information that you will be looking for.
You will need the following information to search the database:
Inmate’s Full Name
Sending a Mail/Care Package
Nationwide Inmate Records Online Check
Another privilege an inmate will have is to send and receive letters with their family and friends. Inmates in the Youthful Offender System can receive the following items:
When addressing the envelope, ensure that you have the inmate’s full name, their bed assignment, and their OPUS number.
While an offender is housed in the Youthful Offender System, they will have the opportunity to shop at the commissary or what is also known as the prison canteen.
The commissary is going to be the market where they can purchase extra items from. However, for the offenders to purchase their extra items, they are going to need funds on their books.
This is where family and friends come in. Family and friends can add funds on their books by sending a certified check, cashier’s check, or a money order with the inmate’s full name along with the remitter’s information as well.
Without this vital information, the money will be sent back to the sender. You can address the money order to the address located in the sending mail section.
Inmates will not have a lot of privileges, but one privilege they do have will be to make calls home.
If they have money in their phone account, they will be permitted to call home during the times they have to use the phone.
Visitation schedule at the Youthful Offender System changes every three months. The visitation schedule goes by the inmate’s last name.
