Sending Money
While an offender is housed in the New River "O" Unit, they will have the opportunity to shop at the commissary or what is also known as the prison canteen.
The commissary is going to be the market where they can purchase extra items from. However, for the offenders to purchase their extra items, they are going to need funds on their books.
This is where family and friends come in. Family and friends can add funds on their books by sending a certified check, cashier’s check, or a money order with the inmate’s full name along with the remitter’s information as well.
Without this vital information, the money will be sent back to the sender. You can address the money order to the address located in the sending mail section.
Phone calls
Inmates will not have a lot of privileges, but one privilege they do have will be to make calls home.
If they have money in their phone account, they will be permitted to call home during the times they have to use the phone.
Visitation
Visitation schedule at the New River "O" Unit changes every three months. The visitation schedule goes by the inmate’s last name.
