The Georgia Department of Corrections is a part of the state government here in the state of Georgia. The DOC is the biggest department within this government as well. The Department of Corrections in Georgia has employed over 10,500 state correctional officers.
These 10,500 state correctional officers are responsible for maintaining over 52,000 offenders in their custody daily. The Department of Corrections within the state of Georgia is the department that is responsible for drawing up the protocols, the guidelines, and the standards that they need to meet to ensure that their offenders are getting the best possible care that they deserve.
All state correctional officers are also in on making sure that the DOC meets their standards daily as well. They would not be able to do this without all their hard workers.
Everyone here at the DOC in Georgia will ensure that the general society is safe, and that their inmate population is also safe and cannot do any more harm to the general society outside of these facilities and buildings.
