How to Find Someone in Dorchester County Department of Corrections
Locating an inmate in the Dorchester County Department of Corrections is no easy feat. The agency responsible for keeping records of all inmates in the Dorchester County Department of Corrections is the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Department.

Sending Money
Inmates in the Dorchester County Department of Corrections will need funds to purchase items from the commissary. In order to deliver funds to an inmate, you can bring a money order directly down to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections lobby.
You will need to ensure on the money order you have the inmates full name on it as well.
The staff member will collect the money order from you and the funds will be deposited into the inmates account within one to three days.
If you do not live close to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, you can always send the money order in the mail.
Phone calls
If you are having withdrawals from not talking to an inmate, you will continue the waiting game. Inmates cannot receive calls and/or messages from their loved ones back home.
You will be required to wait for the inmate to contact you. Inmates will have use of the phone daily if they display good behavior and the facility is not in lockdown.
All calls coming from the Dorchester County Department of Corrections will be collect calls. To ensure you will receive these collect calls, you will need to have a landline.
Visitation
Visitation at the Dorchester County Department of Corrections is held Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 am to 6 pm.
All visits will be no-contact visits. You and your visitor party will not be permitted to touch the inmates. The inmate will be on the opposite side of a glass partition.
To visit an inmate, you will need to present your government-issued identification card such as a driver’s license. Juveniles under the age of 16 will always be required to be accompanied by an adult. They will not be permitted to visit an inmate alone.
