The McHenry County Jail is home to inmates who have been arrested throughout the county. However, the McHenry County Jail does not only house inmates who have been arrested and are currently going through the judicial system, but they also house inmates who have already been sentenced and serving out their time.

How to Find Someone in McHenry County Jail
Locating an inmate in the McHenry County Jail is no easy feat. The agency responsible for keeping records of all inmates in the McHenry County Jail is the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department.

Inmates in the McHenry County Jail will need funds to purchase items from the commissary. In order to deliver funds to an inmate, you can bring a money order directly down to the McHenry County Jail lobby.

The staff member will collect the money order from you and the funds will be deposited into the inmates account within one to three days.
If you do not live close to the McHenry County Jail, you can always send the money order in the mail.

Visitation at the McHenry County Jail is held Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 am to 6 pm.
All visits will be no-contact visits. You and your visitor party will not be permitted to touch the inmates. The inmate will be on the opposite side of a glass partition.
To visit an inmate, you will need to present your government-issued identification card such as a driver’s license. Juveniles under the age of 16 will always be required to be accompanied by an adult. They will not be permitted to visit an inmate alone.
