Inmates in the Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center can receive written letters from their loved ones back home. These letters cannot contain stamps, checks, cash, or pictures. You are only permitted to send them a handwritten letter.

If you mail anything that an inmate cannot have, it will not be given to the inmate, it will not be sent back to you, it will be properly discarded in the mailroom.

Sending Money

Please note that the Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center does not accept money orders.

The Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center now uses inmatedeposits.com. You will need to create an account to send money to an inmate.

With this service you will be permitted to make deposits on a daily, weekly, or even a monthly basis. Each deposit can be up to $300.

To make a successful deposit into an inmate’s account, you will be required to know the inmate’s identification number.

Phone calls

Inmates cannot take phone calls, but inmates can make phone calls. All outgoing phone calls from the Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center will be collect calls.

You will need to have a landline phone to receive these phone calls. You will also need to know that these phone calls will be at your expense. Inmates will not be paying for this service and neither is the Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center.

Visitation

The Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center permits inmates to have 3 visits per week. Visiting hours at the Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center goes as follows:

In order to visit an inmate, you will need to first and foremost bring your driver’s license to be allowed into the visitation area. All visits with inmates in the Rhea County Juvenile Detention Center are no-contact visits. You will be sitting behind a glass partition when visiting the inmate. There will be no touching involved or allowed.
